The Purkey Wedding

I had such a blast shooting Danielle and Chris's wedding! They had their ceremony and reception at the Wyldewood Cellars Winery in Mulvane. Since the wedding took place in January, it was too cold for grape vines. Danielle and Chris toughed out the cold and we got some great shots outdoors with some of the Winery's landscaping. 

Trying Out A New Lens

I just purchased the 50mm f/1.4 canon lens and I think I'm in love! This lens will be a great addition to my collection of lenses for weddings and portraits. I can not tell you enough how excited I am to use it this Saturday for a wedding event! I'm sure I will have lots to share!


When I decided to by a prime lens I went back and forth many times trying to figure out how much I should spend and what lens would be the best for the buck! Initially I wanted the L series 50mm f/1.2 but couldn't get myself to spend over $1,500 for it. I love my other L lens and totally think it's worth the money I spent on it, but when I could get another 50mm lens for way less... I had to start comparing reviews. Really, the f/1.4 and f/1.2 don't have a lot of difference other then the f/1.2 being extremely well built with better glass. When it comes down to sharpness and how well they shoot in low light, I've read that both are very compatible. I guess it all comes down to what your willing to spend, but in my case, I saved a lot of money and still get the great quality. However, you do need to know what you are doing with your camera settings to take advantage of this lenses great features.


Here are a couple practice snap shots I took of my two sweet puppies! This is the only one I was able to take of Ratchet before he hid under the table. For some reason both my dogs are camera shy.

The Branizor Wedding

We shot Gina and Tyson's wedding on January 1st 2011...  a perfect start for a new year! Heather and I really enjoyed photographing this couple! They were so genuine with each other, it made our time there so worth it as we got some great shots of the sweet moments between the two.

Rilyn Thomas

I finally had the chance to meet my new little niece Rilyn who is living in Florida! She is so precious! Damon and I got to see hands on what it would be like to have a baby. I can't wait to see her in a few months... and by then she will be so much bigger! Expect to see more shots of Rilyn in the near future!

The Waddell Wedding

This winter wonderland wedding was the perfect one to end the year! Anna and Kenny were fabulous as were their family and friends. We had such a great time photographing their special day at the 20th Century Center down town. 

 I was in love with her shoes... so cute!

Leah's Winter Session

Leah decided to have another senior session in January at the Great Plains Nature Center. Although it did not feel like winter at all with the temperatures around 70 degrees! It was gorgeous out!

Dugan Wedding

What a gorgeous winter wedding! Karissa and Mark were awesome and have such wonderful families and friends to help celebrate this special occasion. This was my third wedding at St. Marks Church in Colwich and have become very familiar with the location and it's best spots for photos! 

Carlyle Wedding

This was my first wedding at St. Vincent De Paul in Andover. What a beautiful church!! We loved snapping shots of the Ville and capturing that elegant look of Italy! Lauren was just absolutely stunning and we were able to capture some really precious moments shared between her and Kyle. We will soon have a slide show up on the website to highlight more their extravagant wedding.

Hurd Wedding

I loved getting to know Becky and Mark! It was one of those situations were you feel you've known this person for a long time. They were just so easy to get along with! I use to work with Becky's brother Jason at a design firm before I started my business. He was so thoughtful to refer me to his sister for wedding portraiture. What a blast!!!

James Wedding

This was a beautiful October wedding! We just loved being apart of Stacie and Daniel's special day! We had the privilege of working with two very large families that were so patient with each other... it was very sweet. So many tears of joy and laughter was shared that day and we loved capturing it all!

Wortman Wedding

Wow... I could not get over Holly's shoes! We had to of taken over 50 different shots of just the shoes... they were amazing!!! This kind of stuff excites me though, lol! I love my classy brides who know how to roll in style and Holly had that down! We made sure to get plenty of pictures of her Coco Chanel items. Thanks Holly and Aaron for letting us be apart of your big day... it was fabulous and fun!

Hanzlicek Wedding

I was super excited to be apart of this wedding for the fact that Katie and Kyle are just about the sweetest couple I have ever met! We did some of their formal shots at the arboretum in Hesston Ks. and it turned out beautifully!!!
